I’m interested in the details that make good dentistry work.

02Who I am and what drives me

Introduction

I did not choose dentistry because I wanted to work on teeth. I chose it because I liked the idea of solving something carefully, by hand, for the person sitting in front of me.

Most of what I do is small. A margin. A contact point. A millimetre of movement. Those are the places where treatment either holds up over the years or quietly gives way, long after the appointment has been forgotten.

So the part of the work that interests me is rarely the part that photographs well. It is the diagnosis, the sequencing, the decision to wait, and occasionally the decision not to treat at all.

I would rather do less, and do it properly.

03What I do clinically

My Expertise

Four areas of work, held to one standard. The treatment is chosen after the problem is understood, never before it.

01

Clear Aligners

Aligner treatment planned around the bite rather than the front teeth alone. I set the result first, then work backwards through the movements needed to reach it.

02

Endodontics

Root canal treatment approached with patience, because the anatomy rarely announces itself. The measure of success is a tooth that stays quiet for years.

03

Restorative Dentistry

Rebuilding what has been lost in proportion to what remains. Additive where possible, conservative by preference, and planned so that the result can be maintained.

04

Education & Clinical Development

Teaching, mentoring and continuous training, because the quality of the work depends on how the thinking behind it keeps developing.

04How I think

My Approach

Diagnosis first
Then the plan
Then the procedure

Good treatment starts with understanding the problem.

I try not to begin with a procedure.

I begin with the patient.

What is happening? What has caused it? What does the patient want to change? And what are the realistic options?

These questions can sometimes lead to a more conservative treatment. In other cases, they may point towards something more comprehensive.

Either way, I think the decision should come before the treatment.

Technology has a role. It just needs to have a reason.

Digital dentistry has become an important part of modern clinical practice, and I enjoy exploring what it can offer.

But I am less interested in technology for its own sake.

For me, its value comes from whether it helps us diagnose more accurately, plan more carefully, communicate more clearly or achieve a better result.

Working With People Who Are Moving Dentistry Forward

I value the opportunity to work alongside people who approach dentistry from different perspectives.

My professional relationships with organisations including Anthogyr, the Straumann Group and ClearCorrect have given me the opportunity to engage with developments in technology, education and clinical practice from another angle.

I find these relationships particularly valuable when they create a genuine exchange of ideas.

Clinical experience can inform industry.

Industry can introduce new possibilities to clinical practice.

The interesting part is what happens when the two meet.

08What I share

Speaking & Education

Learning is something I want to keep sharing.

Lectures · Mentoring · Case Discussion

I have always found that one of the best ways to understand something properly is to try to explain it to someone else.

That is one of the reasons I am increasingly interested in education, mentoring and professional speaking.

My interests lie particularly in clear aligner therapy, endodontics and restorative dentistry, especially where careful clinical decision-making, modern workflows and practical dentistry come together.

Whether it is a conversation with another dentist, a clinical presentation or a more structured educational setting, I prefer to keep things practical.

There is usually enough theory in dentistry.

I want people to leave with something useful.
